A disposable e-cigarette is an electrical device: it has a battery, a heating element and electronics. Once depleted, it becomes e-waste (WEEE), which by law must not be thrown into municipal waste.
Where to take it

- Electronics stores – are required to accept small electrical appliances without purchase.

Why it matters
Lithium batteries in municipal waste are a common cause of fires in collection vehicles and incinerators. At the same time, they contain valuable raw materials – lithium, cobalt, copper – that can be recovered.
What not to do
- Do not disassemble the device or attempt to charge the battery.
- Do not throw it into fire or water.
- Do not store it in the sun or in a car in summer.
